You were brave when you set off on your adventures into the unknown.

UNCHARTED captures the best grapes from the best regions in the best years, and the best is not always easy to find.

We’re on a journey of DISCOVERY. We’d love you to join us on Waiheke Island…

Uncharted Pinot Gris

Bedded on the shoreside in warm volcanic soils, and nurtured by a cool climate, these Pinot Gris vines look back across the gulf towards Auckland. Digging deeper, you’ll find that this vineyard has a secret - it sits directly atop a major fault line; extreme beauty created by a rocky past.

Tasting Notes

The wine looks like liquid silver. There are hints of pear and nectarine with a mandarin skin scent slowly revealing itself. On the palate there is a creaminess mouthfeel while subtle honeysuckle flavours tease you with a suggestion of sweetness. The wine finishes with a ginger-like warmth and spice.

Why we love Waiheke

Anyone who has whiled away the hours on the motu will know that Waiheke is an environment all its own. The warm maritime climate is perfect for producing a wide spectrum of varietals with often surprising levels of intensity and unique flavour profiles. This is why Waiheke is one of the first places we look for something exciting!

Nestled in the Hauraki Gulf, the island boasts pristine beaches (nudist or otherwise), rolling hills, and bushland which explodes with calling of native Tūī. Nature is on full display around every corner.
